Chipotle to hold “adventurrito” contest

LAWRENCE, Kan.—Chipotle Mexican Grill will be hosting a burrito making contest this June in Kansas City, Kansas called “What’s your adventurrito?” The event is part of their efforts to reinforce that their ingredients are as fresh and as safe as ever.

The contest will be a competition between 15 participants to see who can make the most tasty and innovative “adventurrito” using only Chipotle ingredients. The winning burrito will win a cash prize of 500 dollars and will also be promoted at Chipotle chains across America for a limited time.

“I think this will be a great way to get a new perspective on our ingredients and how they can be used, as well as eat some delicious food,” says co-CEO of Chipotle, Steve Ells.

Ells will be acting as one of the judges for the contest and will be alongside Kansas City food critic Lisa Murphey, Royals player Wade Davis, and the mayor of Kansas City, Sly James.

Registration for this event began last week, and there have already been more than 50 applicants wanting to submit their tasty creations.

The event will take place in the Plaza in Kansas City on Saturday, June 11th. For more information about guidelines or to register go to
